FOCUSED TREATMENTS

Focused Treatments Helps Healing
Acute wounds heal in an organized manner, with sufficient growth factors, effective cell migration (fibroblasts and keratinocytes), controlled protease activity, active angiogenesis, and timely re-epithelialization. They typically have minimal infection and resolve the inflammatory phase quickly.

Chronic wounds remain stuck in a non-healing state with a hostile wound environment: growth factor levels are inadequate, cells do not migrate or proliferate effectively, and excessive MMPs degrade new tissue. Chronic wounds often have ongoing infection (sometimes biofilms) and persistent inflammation, leading to poor angiogenesis and a failure to regenerate skin coverage.

Through focus and planning, RPM Medical can clearly plan how acute wounds usually heal on their own, whereas chronic wounds require specialized intervention.
